When the time came for Jay and Hannah to buy a new property, they found a 5 acre gem in Central Indiana: house, land, barn. Hannah has loved goats for most of her life. The "original" plan was to get some "pet" goats...they now have goats, livestock guard dogs, cats, and chickens, with a few other species planned for later years!​

Jay is in charge of the infrastructure: he designs and executes builds, keeps the fence hot, and maintains the property. Hannah is in charge of the animals and people: she facilitates veterinary care and records, is the primary animal caretaker, and handles customer relations and social media.

"New West Akers" is a spin-off of their former property. "New" because it was a new home, "West" because the view of the west is beautiful, and "Akers" from their last name.

Co-owners and best friends, they tackle life on the farm together daily, joined by a friendly mix of animals, who each have a name and a personality of their own.
